Coming Home to Keenan

Keenan’s Student Council, including Seniors Roderica Sturrup and John Richmond, have planned the major Coming Home event from January 17-20.

WACH Fox 57 televises Homecoming pep rally

Keenan’s Homecoming pep rally was even more special this year.  WACH Fox 57’s morning program, Good Day, Columbia, televised portions of the pep rally live. Because of the show’s schedule, Keenan held a morning pep rally for the first time ever. Keenan Student Council concludes 2016 Pasta for Pennies campaign

The 2016 Pasta for Pennies Fundraiser has come to a close. Pasta for Pennies is an annual fundraising campaign hosted by the Keenan Student Council to raise money and awareness for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The fundraiser lasted for exactly a month. Every teacher with a 2nd block B Day class was given a box to collect donations. The class with the most money raised would win a catered lunch from Olive Garden. Keenan Student Council gives back during holidays with #StealASmile

From December 14 to December 18, 2015, the Keenan Student Council, in conjunction with the Students in Action (SIA) team and Service Learning class, all under the advisement of Mrs. Deidra Pompey, Student Activities Director, held a week of service entitled #StealASmile.

Student Council students get chance to volunteer at local zoo

For years Student Council students have volunteered in their free time at Riverbanks Zoo and Gardens. In the month of October they hosted a special event called Boo at the Zoo, for children ages 12 and under to celebrate Halloween.

It was time to get hype and show some school spirit. Keenan’s Coming Home finally arrived the first week of February, and it was so much fun with all the Spirit Week activities. Keenan had an activity every day of the week; the theme was Candy Crush.

Keenan collects money for Pennies for Pizza

Pizza Hut launched its annual Pennies for Pizza campaign in October to benefit world hunger. The Arcadia Lakes Pizza Hut was Keenan’s associate on this job. Keenan’s 2B classes raised funds to help children and families in seriously impoverished countries.

Raiders fight cancer through Pasta for Pennies

From February 11 to March 12, Keenan held its annual Pasta for Pennies drive. Pasta for Pennies is a national drive Olive Garden hosts. Schools from all over the United States participate. Pasta for Pennies is held to help raise money for cancer patients.
