Girls JV team misses out on championship

The girls JV basketball team at Keenan really worked hard this year and tried its best. The team won many games and lost some games, but they still worked hard.

Keenan Raiders end their drought with victory over Ridgeland-Hardeeville

The Keenan Boys Basketball team is led by Coach Zachary Norris. The team finished number one in the region with the record of 30-1; the Raiders ranked number three in the state of South Carolina and number 183 in the nation. The main focus was playing together as a team and defense; they think it is the key to winning the championship.

Raiders score goals

GOAL! Keenan’s soccer team had a long season; they went 1-13 this season. Their one win was against Calhoun County High School; the score was 3-0.

“It was an honor to be named all-region this season; it would have been better to be all-state,” Senior Rokeith Paldo said.

Wrestling Raiders set season off strong

Keenan’s 2017-2018 wrestling team kicked off the season with Senior Damien George 5-0.

“It’s going great,” Assistant Coach Pablo Rivera said about the season. “We have a bunch of new wrestlers; they are working hard to improve.”

All the athletes worked hard to accomplish their personal goals.

Promise Land around the corner

During the 2016-2017 season, the Keenan football team had a disappointing season, according to Mr. Harold Curnell, defense coordinator. In its travels during the season, the team came up with a 3-5 record. Also Keenan played a playoff game against Blacksburg High School but fell short to a 20-14 loss. According to the coaches, the team had flaws but had heart.

Softball games have ended

As the Lady Raiders softball team came to their final game on April 26, they finished their season outstandingly, and the senior pitcher made history for Keenan softball.

Coach Clarence Black, Softball Coach, talked about coaching softball.

“I like coaching softball,” Black said. “It’s frustrating at times, but I like coaching it.”

Raiders win State Championship

On March 7 the Raiders arrived at the most anticipated basketball game of the season, the final playoff game against Ridgeland/Hardeeville. The Raiders had already defeated previous teams during the playoffs, including Central, Abbeville, Chesnee, and Storm Thurmond. Derrick Rose injures knee for third time

Derrick Rose, basketball star from the Chicago Bulls, suffered the third serious injury to his knee February 24, 2015.

In the 2011-2012 season, Rose started 39 games until he suffered his first injury in the first game of the playoffs. He tore the ACL in his left knee while jumping to grab a rebound.
