Keenan basketball teams stare down title

By Dillon Jones, Sports Writer

Keenan’s boys’ basketball team fell just three points short of its goal last year. Five seniors graduated from the team, leaving holes to be filled for the 2017-2018 team. Players and coaches are ready to see what this year’s team will do and achieve.

Lady Raiders ready to batter it up

The Lady Raider Softball team’s upcoming season will start in February. The ladies have already begun workouts. They practice for at least three hours every Tuesday and Thursday. The Raiders work on batting, base running, calling out plays and other activities to get ready for the 17-18 season.

“I feel the season will be a good one,” Sophomore Amiya Webb said.

Seniors will take charge of softball team

Keenan soccer scores for medals

Keenan’s boys and girls soccer team will have their first game February 27 against Lewisville High School.

Coach Pablo Rivera, soccer coach, is welcoming children from all grades to participate and be a part of an amazing soccer team.

KHS track team runs after goals

Keenan’s track team will soar to new heights when it has its first track meet on March 2.

Before the meet the team prepares strongly. Team members also have a firm mindset on what they want to accomplish this season.

Raiders start basketball preseason

Keenan Raiders Basketball have been preparing in and out of the gym in the off season for the upcoming 2016-2017 season.

Coming Home to Keenan

Keenan’s Student Council, including Seniors Roderica Sturrup and John Richmond, have planned the major Coming Home event from January 17-20.

Promise Land around the corner

During the 2016-2017 season, the Keenan football team had a disappointing season, according to Mr. Harold Curnell, defense coordinator. In its travels during the season, the team came up with a 3-5 record. Also Keenan played a playoff game against Blacksburg High School but fell short to a 20-14 loss. WACH Fox 57 televises Homecoming pep rally

Keenan’s Homecoming pep rally was even more special this year.  WACH Fox 57’s morning program, Good Day, Columbia, televised portions of the pep rally live. Because of the show’s schedule, Keenan held a morning pep rally for the first time ever.
