Raiders score goals

GOAL! Keenan’s soccer team had a long season; they went 1-13 this season. Their one win was against Calhoun County High School; the score was 3-0.

“It was an honor to be named all-region this season; it would have been better to be all-state,” Senior Rokeith Paldo said.

Keenan athlete commits to Norfolk State University

Senior D’Montre’ Smith signed to Norfolk State University on February 7 for football.

“I am going to this school to major in Secondary Teaching,” he said.

This will be Plan B for Smith because his first is trying to get into the NFL.

Keenan 2A girls win State Championship

Keenan’s lady basketball team vs. Mullins on Friday, March 2 3:00 at the Colonial Life Arena in Columbia.

Baseball season is here

The Keenan baseball team is coming out of their three preseason games and are preparing for their first regular season game against Gray Collegiate Academy.

Wrestling Raiders set season off strong

Keenan’s 2017-2018 wrestling team kicked off the season with Senior Damien George 5-0.

“It’s going great,” Assistant Coach Pablo Rivera said about the season. “We have a bunch of new wrestlers; they are working hard to improve.”

Aly Raisman raped by Olympic doctor Larry Nassar

Twenty-three year old Aly Raisman, American gymnast and two time Olympian medalist, is the latest gymnast to accuse Olympian doctor Larry Nassar of sexual abuse. Raisman was just sixteen when Nassar abused her.

Raiders ready for battle

The Keenan basketball program is getting ready for its upcoming season. The boys’ basketball team took a tough loss in the championship game against Burke High School. The girls lost in the third round to Christ Church Episcopal School at home.

Keenan basketball teams stare down title

Keenan’s boys’ basketball team fell just three points short of its goal last year. Five seniors graduated from the team, leaving holes to be filled for the 2017-2018 team. Players and coaches are ready to see what this year’s team will do and achieve.

Lady Raiders ready to batter it up

The Lady Raider Softball team’s upcoming season will start in February. The ladies have already begun workouts. They practice for at least three hours every Tuesday and Thursday. The Raiders work on batting, base running, calling out plays and other activities to get ready for the 17-18 season.

“I feel the season will be a good one,” Sophomore Amiya Webb said.
