Keenan Raiders end their drought with victory over Ridgeland-Hardeeville

The Keenan Boys Basketball team is led by Coach Zachary Norris. The team finished number one in the region with the record of 30-1; the Raiders ranked number three in the state of South Carolina and number 183 in the nation. The main focus was playing together as a team and defense; they think it is the key to winning the championship.

GO, GO, ROBO-RAIDERS: Raiders build their way to Myrtle Beach

From February 27 to March 2, Keenan’s Robo-Raiders went to Myrtle Beach for the FIRST competition for Robotics. At this competition, there were schools from all over the state and some teams from out of state.

One of the teams there was Lower Richland High School.

Magnet Program takes trip to Alabama

The engineering magnet program took a trip on March 13 to Huntsville, Alabama, to visit the U.S. Space and Rocket Center.

Mr. Kareem Beckett, Head of the Magnet Program, is the person who organized the trip.

“The purpose of this trip was for the students to learn leadership skills and apply those skills in class,” Beckett said.

New kids on the block: Freshman students work harder and smarter

Class of 2022 freshmen have been on their journey throughout high school since they started in August 2018.  There are also new teachers on the hall, including a selected few teachers and veterans teaching freshman.

Food not being regulated in U.S

Due to the government shutdown the speed and safety of our food was not being regulated.

According to CNN news, “the US Food and Drug Administration resumed some food safety inspectors that had stopped since the government shutdown began on December 22. Inspect[ors] who are back on the job are doing so without any pay.”
