The soccer season has officially begun. Soccer try outs were held on February 1-5. The team is very confident they will do well with so many returning players and new players.

“I believe we will have a good season because of all of the returning players and even all of the freshman that are excited to participate,” Head Coach Pablo Rivera said. “Every year we win more games because we continue to gain more players with a passion to play.”

In previous years the soccer team has only gotten better with winning games and gaining better skills on the field as a team.

“We will have more wins because we will have better players,” Senior Kenneth Dunbar said. “This year will be more successful than the previous because we have more players that know the system of what our rules are.”

Many of the players are mostly veterans to soccer and have more experience than the newer players do. But over time the newer players will get more into the swing of things.

“In the past we were stressing more people to get involved with soccer because it’s a great way to stay active,” Coach James McLawhorn said. “This year we are expecting a lot more of success as far as winning games and learning the game. We are seeing constant improvement in the team every year. I am confident we will do well this season whether it’s winning or learning.”
