The Senior Project is a graduation requirement of English IV and AP Literature at Keenan. Potential graduates must complete Senior Projects.
“Senior Projects are intended to be the culminating activity of all of the students’ years in school,” Mrs. Anita Stroman, English teacher, said.
The Senior Project is the capstone project in the major grade category and the culmination of your time at Keenan.
“Senior Project is designed to be an opportunity for students to explore their interest[s],” Stroman said.
This can be related to a variety of interests: career, academic, recreation, arts or personal development.
“We encourage students to challenge themselves in new ways; we don’t require that they pursue a specific type of project,” Stroman said.
It is an opportunity to show people (including yourself) what you have learned and what you are capable of doing, as well as a way to assess your own abilities at the end of your senior year.
“The project was really easy; it just took a while for me to pick a topic because at first I wasn’t understanding,” Senior Demyra Rudder said.
The purpose of the project is to challenge high school seniors to demonstrate their academic knowledge in an experimental way.
“It was the easiest thing I’ve done in high school, literally,” Senior Evan Gaines said.
If seniors do not complete a Senior Project, they do not graduate. The project is mandatory.
