Coach Pablo Rivera is the American Government, Economics and Foundations of US History teacher. He also is the assistant coach for the wrestling team and the head coach for the soccer team.

He has been coaching for two years.

“I have helped out as a volunteer but not formally as a coach,” Rivera said.

Rivera has many attributes that allow him to be the coach he is.

“He is not afraid to confront us on our weak points,” Junior Kemondre Pauldo said.

Rivera believes the most important thing about sports is that it builds a better person in many ways.

“Sports develops character, trust and respect,” he said.

His most important passion is to teach young people about life.

“The best advice that Coach Rivera has given me is play how I know how to play and don’t worry about others,” Sophomore Gabby Washington said.

Rivera has influenced many of his players.

“He connects with us,” Junior Nathaniel Eargle said.

Rivera loves all sports, including baseball and football.

“I’m a sports fanatic,” he said.

His favorite soccer team varies depending on the league. He likes the U.S. soccer team L.A. Galaxy and FIFA soccer team Mexico.

His favorite wrestler is the current Penn State coach, Cael Sanderson.

“If I had to give a player some advice, it would be to never give up on a play, no matter how difficult the situation may be,” Rivera said.
