Keenan had welcomed a new counselor to the Raider family.

Mrs. Saran Hasinger is a spunky new counselor making her  appearance in the Raider Nation.

“She has added to the guidance department and is a wonderful addition to the team,” Mrs. Linda DeLaughter, guidance counselor, said.

Stepping foot on campus was a big transition for Hasinger despite what she is used to.

Hasinger is full of positive energy; she is devoted to helping anyone in need. Keenan is like a second home to her.

“[She has] brought something new to Keenan; she set up a new program called Backpacks for Buddies,” Ms. Brenda Boyd, media specialist, said.

Hasinger decided to become a counselor because kids always came to her with their problems, first majoring in drama at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, then majoring in education.

“I think I’ve made the right choice when I chose my career; I love what I do, and I always love to help,” Hasinger said.

She is always caring and loving, brightening up a room with her courageous smile and attitude, getting what needs to be done on time.

Hasinger is exactly what Keenan needs to better the school community.
