Keenan’s volleyball team finished their season 17-3-1.

On October 22, the team faced Andrew Jackson at Keenan. They fell short three games to none.

The team has four 3AA players of the year.

The four players are Sophomores Isis Hill and Alexis Boyles and Juniors Jana Pralieau and Tatyana Peters.

Players on the team say their season went well this year.

“I think the season went really [well; we] only lost one game, but it went [well],” Hill said.

Players have to do specific things to become all-state players of the year.

“You have to have a great skillset on the court and show great sportsmanship and be a leader,” Pralieau said.

Volleyball players also have to do specific things during the off-season to prepare for the true test, which is the playoffs.

“[I] keep practicing and keep motivating my teammates and keep reminding them we can win the state championship,” Hill said.

Head Coach Anita Mobley has certain expectations when coaching her players.

“I expect my girls to be coachable,” Mobley said.  “They have to be open-minded and buy into my system.  [They] have to be willing to go one hundred and ten plus in practice and the game.  And [they] also have to know the game of volleyball.”
