On May 17, nine Keenan track members advanced to the Upper State qualifiers held at Liberty High School.  The members who advanced were Sophomore Amber Stone, Juniors Kendric Gathers, Tiski Gray, Stanford Wilson, Ken’Dazia Peters, and Seniors Peter Easaw, Jordan Reid, Brianna Powell and Jocelyn Grace. “Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard” Stone said.

The girls won the 4×100 that was held at 2:30 P.M. Their win resulted in a new school track record. They also won the 4×400, which was held at 7:15 P.M. to result in another new school record.

“Hard work always pays off,” Gathers said.

The boys track team participated in the 200, 400 and triple jump.  Gathers was able to get 1st place during the boys 4 by 1.

“The track meet was fun and exciting, and with God anything is possible,” Easaw said.

The wins at the Upper State qualifiers concluded the track season for the year.
