On March 24, 18 new members were inducted into the Beta Club. The Beta Club is committed to recognizing and promoting high academic achievement, rewarding and nurturing worthy character, fostering leadership skills and encouraging service to others. In order for students to be inducted into the Beta Club, they must meet certain requirements.

One of the newly inducted members Sophomore Solomon Goodwin-Simmons, expressed his pleasure at being inducted into the Beta Club.

“It was a very intriguing experience, and I felt honored to be included into Beta Club,” Goodwin said.

Students who are accepted into the Beta Club have to reach a certain type of requirement according to Mrs. Rona Stuart, Sponsor.

“In order to be a member of the Beta Club, you must have a GPA of 3.25 or higher, and you cannot have any discipline infractions,” Stuart said.

To be accepted into the Beta Club, students participate in a ceremony. According to new members, the ceremony was very satisfying.

“The induction ceremony was very pleasant; I enjoyed being a part of the induction ceremony, and it will always have a special place in my heart,” Goodwin-Simmons said.

Not only were students pleased, but advisors were also pleased. Ms. Erin McGee, Beta Club Sponsor, described how incredible the event was.

“The Beta Club induction ceremony was efficient and went smoothly.  The faculty sponsors were quick to volunteer to help, and Ms. Stuart did a great job with planning everything.  I hope the parents and new inductees felt the same,” McGee said.

Not only did McGee express how nice the induction was but she had words of encouragement for new members.

“Congratulations, new members!  Strive to be the best that you can be.  Encourage your classmates to follow in your footsteps because as Beta Club members, you are the leaders of our school,” McGee said.
