On March 7 in the Auditorium, the Francis Marion University gospel choir visited and performed for students and faculty in the Fine Arts Department.
The choir goes by the name Young, Gifted and Blessed (Y.G.B.), and is led by Director Jeffrey Lampkin. The choir is embarking on a spring tour of the Southeast.
Keenan Choral Director Mrs. Julia Forbes said they reached out to her, inquiring about performing, and she approved.
“It was a great experience for the children,” Forbes said.
However, some students didn’t feel that way.
“They were alright, but they could’ve been better. They were overbearing; some sections were out of tune, and the sound wasn’t clean,” Sophomore Solomon Goodwin-Simmons said.
Other students agreed with Forbes’ statement.
“I really enjoyed their performance,” Junior Jaris Cochran said.
