JROTC had its Military Ball on March 16, 2012. The cadets had fun, but there were some things that needed a little more work. The ball did not really go as planned. Everyone was dancing like they were at a real Red Carpet Event.

“The middle of the dancing portion was really fun,” Junior Christopher Cochran said.

This year’s Military Ball was different from the previous Balls that were held by the JROTC program.  The Senior Army Instructor (SAI), Major Walter Savage, and the Army Instructor (AI), Sergeant Brenda Boyd, did not really like the Ball as much.

“The Ball was great, although it was a little less formal than previous Military Balls,” Savage said.

The females’ dresses were appropriate this year; the young men, of course, wore their Class A Uniforms, and they looked very nice. All of the cadets looked like they had fun. When the cadets who won King, Queen, Prince and Princess were announced, they were surprised.

Junior Xavier Rhone won King, Junior Shawn Washington won Queen, Senior Monica Robinson won Princess, and Junior Christopher Phillips won Prince.

“I was really surprised that I won because I know [Junior] Matthew Cook is a very good person but I was happy,” Phillips said.
