The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization that recognizes students who excel academically, show good character and display leadership.
“I feel honored to be in NHS, because that mean[s] I am really doing good in school,” Senior Shantrell Mitchell said.
Students had to have a 3.0 GPA to qualify. The NHS provides scholarship opportunities for the students. Ms. Mary Haile is the NHS Advisor. Ms. Jessica Robison is the Assistant NHS Advisor.
“I am incredibly proud to help out with an organization that celebrates the unique level of intelligence and character at Keenan,” Robison said.
The NHS had a ceremony on October 5 to induct the students who were selected to be a part of this organization. At the ceremony they said a pledge.
“During the ceremony I felt very honored, and I am really proud of myself,” Junior Keira Robinson said.
