The Blood Drive competition between Keenan and Eau Claire was held Tuesday, September 27, 2011, in the Keenan Auditorium from 9:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Ms. Mary Haile, National Honor Society Advisor, was in charge of  the Blood Drive.

“I’m the National Honor Society Advisor, and that was a project we had,” Haile said.

Haile stated the Blood Drive was very successful. The Red Cross collected 42 pints of blood. Haile was satisfied with the Blood Drive results. She also stated that her staff was very helpful.

“Eleven of the National Honor Society members were doing a good job,” Haile said.

Haile was assisted by Seniors Shantell Mitchell and Ariel Weeks. Weeks couldn’t give blood, but she was very happy for helping in the blood drive.

“I was happy because I was saving a life,” Weeks said.

Mitchell couldn’t give blood because she was too small, but she was glad she was helping. Overall the Blood Drive was a success and ended up being a tie with Keenan’s rivals, the Eau Claire Shamrocks, because of the College Fair and a delay in setting up for the Red Cross.
