Mrs. Alethea Barnes-Hughey has coordinated Spoken Word for the past two years. The events are always are successful. On March 4 in the Lecture Hall, numerous students read their poetry and sang their songs to express the way they felt and to tell the audience who they are.
Keenan’s Spoken Word provides a forum for the students, faculty and staff to share their creative talents through poetic performances, which encourages critical thinking and writing.
“One of Keenan’s Literacy goals is to continue moving towards a culture that embraces and supports reading, writing, thinking and listening skills” Barnes-Hughey said.
