On Wednesday, May 4, 2011, the Keenan Orchestra performed with other schools in the Keenan Cluster Concert. This event was held in the Keenan auditorium. This event was held to showcase the schools in the Keenan Cluster.

The purpose of this concert is to bring together the various levels of playing and to show the progression of skills from elementary, middle and high school students.

The schools that attended this special event were:

  • W.J. Keenan High School: Director, Ms. Christi L. Lewis; Principal, Mr. Alvin Pressley
  • Alcorn Middle School: Director, Mrs. Melody Jackson; Principal, Dr. Baron Davis
  • Arden Elementary School: Director, Mrs. Melody Jackson; Principal, Mrs. Peggie Grant
  • Forest Heights Elementary School: Director, Mrs. Melody Jackson; Principal, Dr. Frank Robinson
  • John P. Thomas Elementary School: Director, Mrs. Melody Jackson; Principal, Mrs. Evelyn Moore

The Keenan Cluster students performed a varied amount of songs; the elementary schools played a variety of songs including the famous tune A Mozart Melody by Mozart. The middle school section played a total of 5 songs including the popular piece Gauntlet by G. Spata. The radiant Raiders played a total of 4 songs including the popular piece Raiders March by Williams. The orchestra class and the combined orchestra did a good job, and there was nothing but positive feedback from the audience.
